Noble Fare featuring the wines of Ramey Wine Cellars
Lot’s going on and not much time to post — but here’s the latest:
I’m just in from a lunch at Noble Fare featuring the wines of Ramey Wine Cellars. Chef Patrick McNamara put together an incredible reception and five courses that played beautifully with winemaker David Ramey’s wines.
Ramey himself was on hand to discuss each wine. We sampled four of his chardonnays — Sonoma, Hyde, Hudson and Ritchie. It was great to have all four chards to stand against one another for comparison sake. My fave? I think it has to be Ritchie — a wine made from Russian River grapes off of vines planted in 1972.
We also tasted three cabs — and finally the Ramey syrah — which proved the best of the reds in my book. Subtle, Rhone-influenced and mellow — put this on your “must try list.”
