My frequent dining companion Chloe Casino arm-twisted me to join her Monday at the new Toni Steakhouse, 110 Eisenhower Dr.
Toni had a joint in Wilmington Island – and later launched Adriatic near The Landings. This new venture features a tight menu of steaks, an ample offering of sandwiches and some great-sounding salads.
And that’s what we had – the steak salad.
Mixed greens coulda used a chop, but the strips of grilled sirloin were tasty and hot. Blue cheese crumbles added acidity – and we both enjoyed dunking our greens in an adjoining cup of blue cheese dressing.

Food here is very fresh and well prepared. It is more than a steakhouse – the fish and shrimp are excellent, moist and not overcooked. Good wine list in both terms of variety and price, especially when you consider it’s midtown/southside location.
