Next Dresser Palmer House dinner offers artisan Mozarella cheeses
I attended the first in a series of regular Wednesday night dinners this week at the historic Dresser Palmer House Inn. Chef Roberto Leoci wowed us with lobster tortellini with asparagus veloute, a decadently sweet porcini encrusted ribeye steak and the beautiful and wonderfully flavored salad, pictured left, of baby arugula, shaved fennel, grape tomatoes and confetti of red and yellow bell peppers — all brought together with a deliciously light lemon vinaigrette.
Thanks to the amazing photographer William Torrillo of St. Simons Island, Ga., for providing this photo.
My favorite wine of the night? I Quaranta India, a lavish Barbera from northern Italy that was paired with the steak.
The next dinner, Wednesday, Aug. 19, is a tasting of handmade Mozzarella cheeses featuring Nodini Handmade, Smoked Mozzarella, Mozzarella Fiore di Latte, Mozzarella di Bufala, Burrrata and fresh Ricotta.
Each Mozzarella course will be accompanied with an array Chef Roberto’s selected Contorni (side dishes).
Cocktail hour begins at 7, dinner seating at 8 p.m. $45 pp ++. Call (912) 238-3294 for reservations.
The Dresser Palmer House is located at 211 E. Gaston St., Savannah GA.
